Thank you for doing a piece like this. I just started caring for my grandmother who has dementia, and it's so hard to watch. But your art reminds me that I'm needed, so thank you for sharing with us.

Independent of her disease, she looks so happy and unconcerned! As if deeply (very) inside she guessed she's cared and protected. This picture passes me an optimistic message and I liked both the old lady's hair treatment and the tender way those hands touch her. Excellent job!!

No it doesn't. It is only a reinforcement that who ever gets dementia will need care until he or she passes away. My grandmother has full blown out altzheimers, there is never any hope. All you can do is try to enjoy what is little is left of that person (physically and mentally it all slowly disappears) and hope that he or she does not realise that they are now only a shadow of the person they used to be.

I love the volume and swirly texture of the woman's hair.

I once knew a woman at a retirement home. Everyday she thought she was getting ready to go out on the town with her friend and her husband. This picture reminds me so very much of her... the sad feeling that we all have like distant people in a far off world while she smiles on, a happy state in her own mind.

This painting screams love to me. Even though the colors are cool, the warmth of the content shines through. Gorgeous strokes and lines. Just gorgeous.
